Firefox is slow for localhost

Have you ever noticed how lathargic firefox can be when viewing websites on localhost.  As a web developer I do a lot of work in Visual Studio (Asp.net) and debug alot using firefox and firebug.  So slowing me down even a second or 2 when loading up a page can easily turn into a bunch of lost time.

My good friend and colleague Jarred Nicholls  just shared a tip I’d like to reshare with anyone possible.

To speed up ff simply disable IP v6:

In firegox go to the URL “about:config”.  In the filter text box up top, just type “v6” to bring up the “disable IPv6” option.  Right click on it and choose “Toggle” so it’s  set to “true”.

Hope this helps all you web developers.  Chow.
